La dama de oro de Gustav Klimt, también conocida como Retrato de Adele Block-Bauer , se completó entre 1903 y 1907. Esta pintura fue uno de los dos retratos encargados por Ferdinand Block-Bauer de su esposa cuando ella tenía 25 años. La pintura tiene una historia complicada ya que fue robada por los nazis de la familia Block-Bauer durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Ahora reside en la Neue Galerie en la ciudad de Nueva York. Gustav Klimt (1862 — 1918) was an Austrian symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. Klimt is noted for his paintings, murals, sketches, and other objects d'art. Klimt's primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism.
