About the Artist

Bill Helin

Bill Helin (Welaaxam Yout) is Tlingit, Tsimshian and Norwegian. Born in the Northwest Coastal community of Prince Rupert, BC. Bill spent countless hours listening to his grandmother as she taught him the many legends and songs of the Tlingit and Tsimshian people. Bill has captured the essence of these legends in a series of books and his “Culture Crew” and friends have been brought to life as quality plush toys.
