Harry Benson's iconic Beatles portfolio features remarkable shots from their 1964-1966 tours; from pillow fights in Paris to their first US tour, Benson's captivating black-and-white photographs offer a unique insight into the lives of George, John, Paul, and Ringo during the height of Beatlemania.

Photographer Harry Benson's career was forever changed when the photo editor of London's Daily Express asked him to cover the Beatles' trip to Paris in 1964. The resulting photos captured the Fab Four in a unique light, most famously in a snapshot of their pillow fight at the George V Hotel. This moment has come to symbolize the group's freethinking spirit. Benson followed the Beatles to the US for their debut tour, capturing their Ed Sullivan Show performance, meeting with Cassius Clay, and becoming a witness to Beatlemania. Later that year he photographed George Harrison's honeymoon in Barbados and the Beatles during the filming of A Hard Day's Night. He also documented John Lennon's controversial statement of the Beatles' popularity in 1966. This reprint of Benson's portfolio brings together his most stunning black and white photographs of the legendary band. It also includes quotes, newspaper clippings, and the photographer's own introduction, providing an intimate look at the Beatles' history.
