In spring 2023, the Fondation Louis Vuitton showcased an unprecedented exhibition, Basquiat × Warhol: Paintings 4 Hands, highlighting the collaborative works of two acclaimed artists. The collection will include over 100 jointly signed pieces, alongside individual works by Basquiat and Warhol, as well as works by other renowned artists such as Keith Haring, Jenny Holzer, and Kenny Scharf, to recreate the vibrant New York downtown art scene of the 1980s.

In the years 1984 to 1985, Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960–1988) and Andy Warhol (1928–1987) collaborated on approximately 160 paintings, many of which were the largest they had ever created. Through their work, a true exchange of artistic style and form emerged, addressing important themes such as the representation of African-American citizens in the history of North America, with Warhol at the forefront of iconic manufacturing.
