Ladurée Savory: The Recipes

Ladurée's origin story dates back to 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée established a bakery on 16, rue Royale in the heart of Paris. After a fire in 1872, the bakery evolved into a pastry shop, with renowned painter and poster-designer Jules Cheret responsible for the decoration. Jeanne Souchard, Ernest Ladurée's wife, was inspired to combine a café and pastry shop, creating one of the first tearooms in Paris.

Ladurée was acquired by Francis and David Holder in 1993, solidifying its reputation as a renowned gourmet destination in Paris. Known for its iconic "macaron," the brand expanded its reach by opening a tea-room/restaurant on the famed Champs-Elysées in 1997, followed by other locations in the Printemps department store and on the Left Bank. This marked the beginning of their global journey, with new branches opening in London, Geneva, Monaco, and Tokyo.
