    Louis Comfort Tiffany

    Über den Künstler

    Louis Comfort Tiffany

Louis Comfort Tiffany was a leading figure in American design during the Gilded Age, best known for his work in stained glass. The son of jewelry magnate Charles Lewis Tiffany, he brought a distinct artistic vision to interior decoration, glassmaking, and the decorative arts. In 1885, he founded Tiffany Studios in New York City, where he assembled a talented team of designers and craftspeople. Among them was Clara Driscoll, who supervised the Women's Glass Cutting Department and played a major role in designing the studio’s celebrated lamps and glass objects. While Tiffany’s name became synonymous with the style, many of the studio’s most iconic works were the result of close collaboration between gifted artisans whose skill and creativity helped define the American Art Nouveau movement.

Peter Pauper Press: Fine Books and Gifts Since 1928

    Über das Publisher

    Peter Pauper Press

For nearly 100 years, it has been the mission of Peter Pauper Press to create fine books and gifts that sold "at prices even a pauper could afford."

Started in 1928 by a young Peter Beilenson, who was later joined by his wife, Edna, Peter Pauper Press is remarkable in that, as a leading twenty-first century publishing company, it remains family owned and operated. Peter's son, Nick, and his wife, Evelyn, took over the Press in the 1980s, and grew the company into a preeminent gift and stationery publisher. Their children, John, Suzanne, and Laurence, assisted Nick and Evelyn; in the 1990s, Laurence and his wife, Esther, joined the company full-time. Today, Laurence serves as President and Publisher, his daughter Hannah has joined the fold as an Editor, and the Press continues to grow and evolve.

Through the years, the family's vision for the company has remained a simple one: "To honor our founders’ legacy — and our customers’ expectations — of beauty, quality, and value."
