Nordica war ihr Leben lang mit Joseph De Lamar befreundet und er machte ihr zweimal einen Heiratsantrag. Sie sang von 1894-1906 die Titelrolle in Verdis Aida in New York und ein Foto von ihr in dieser Rolle weist bemerkenswerte Ähnlichkeiten mit Tiffanys Glasarbeiten auf.

Louis Comfort Tiffany was an American artist and designer who worked in the decorative arts. Throughout his career he forged a unique style that combined excellent craftsmanship with a love of nature forms and brilliant color. Though he worked with a multitude of mediums, he is best known for his work in stained glass. This beautiful design pairs Tiffany’s most famous medium with his favorite motif: the peacock. Peacock feathers featured countless times in both his personal life and his professional career. Renowned for their beauty, peacocks have both religious and secular appeal, making them the ideal design motif for Tiffany’s ecclesiastical commissions.
