Following a tumultuous period marked by self-mutilation and hospitalization, Vincent van Gogh made the courageous decision to seek solace within the walls of an asylum. In a remarkable display of his indomitable spirit, van Gogh's creative spark ignited once again during the first week of his stay, leading him to paint the mesmerizing masterpiece known as "Irises." With meticulous attention to detail, van Gogh immersed himself in the study of each individual flower, skillfully capturing their essence through a delicate interplay of curved silhouettes, characterized by wavy, twisting, and curling lines.

Crafted with utmost care, these earrings bear the artistic rendition of van Gogh's iconic "Irises." Constructed from solid brass and electro-plated with a non-tarnishing silver finish, they showcase a giclee print of the vibrant artwork. The ear wires are hypo-allergenic, ensuring a comfortable and stylish wear. Hanging at approximately 1½ inches (3.8 cm), these earrings exude elegance and serve as a wearable tribute to van Gogh's enduring artistic legacy. Delivered in a gift box accompanied by a provenance card, these earrings make a thoughtful and meaningful keepsake for art enthusiasts and admirers of van Gogh's extraordinary talent.

About the Artist, Vincent van Gogh

Vincent van Gogh (born March 30, 1853, Zundert, Netherlands—died July 29, 1890, Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris, France) was a Dutch post-impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art.

In a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits and self-portraits, and are characterized by bold colors and dramatic, impulsive and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art. He was not commercially successful, and his death at 37 came after years of mental illness, depression and poverty.
