About the Craftsman

Sara Pilchman

Sara Pilchman was born and raised in Long Beach, CA where she first got her taste of ceramics as a child in the early 90s.  As a teen, she attended Idyllwild Arts Academy as an Interdisciplinary Arts major focusing on music and creative writing, but graduated with her love of ceramics reignited. She left for Juniata College, a small liberal arts school with an historical arts program in Central Pennsylvania, graduating with a degree in Museums Studies and Visual Storytelling with secondary emphases in Theater and Philosophy.

Sara returned to Long Beach in 2012, where she worked as an arts educator, exhibitions coordinator, curator, and ceramics studio manager. Sara's business, Sara Pilchman Ceramics, began in 2014 as a dishware and barware company. In 2019, "TinyPots" emerged and has since grown into an international wholesale pottery company.
