About Ginger Kelly Glass
About Ginger Kelly Glass
Ginger Kelly is a glass artist living and working in Breaux Bridge, LA. Born and raised in Northern California, she relocated to Seattle in the late 1980s. The glass scene was very vibrant in Seattle at that time and still is. Ginger worked with blown glass, designing and selling her glass across the country, showing at the American Craft Shows, New York Gift Shows and in many galleries. Her designs are unique and at that time focused on functional designs and table top designs for home decor.
Ginger has also worked designing for companies in the U.S. and Canada. She's worked blowing glass in Seattle, Czech Republic, China and Germany. Ginger studied at Pilchuck and Penland School of Crafts and is committed to passing her knowledge along. Teaching and mentoring young artists is truly a passion. After many years in Seattle, Ginger moved to Louisiana, close to New Orleans in Mandeville. Two years after Katrina she moved to Breaux Bridge, which is now home.
"Living in Louisiana has changed my focus and my art. I love the colors, nature and lifestyle of Louisiana. I still blow glass, and my work has expanded to glass mosaics and designing jewelry”.
For Ginger, her art and work with glass has become a family affair. “I work in Seattle often. My son Jesse Kelly is a second generation glass artist in the Seattle area”.
