About the Artist
Tino Rodriguez and Virgo Paraiso
Tino Rodríguez is a Mexican-American painter known for his imaginative and dream-like works. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, he was deeply inspired by the symbolism found in Catholic churches and by the fairy tales he loved as a child. Rodríguez’s paintings often feature fantastical scenes that combine human and animal forms in surreal, colorful settings. He studied at the Sorbonne in 1990, earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, and received his Master of Fine Arts from the University of New Mexico. His work has been shown widely in San Francisco. He had a major exhibition at the San Jose Museum of Art in 2003.
Virgo Paraiso was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and grew up in Japan, Hawaii, and San Francisco. His art reflects this diverse background, and he has exhibited his work internationally in cities like New York, Boston, and Berlin. In addition to painting and visual art, Paraiso has contributed to film and media projects, working with The Wachowskis on the Netflix series *Sense8*, music videos for Antony and the Johnsons, and films such as *Jupiter Ascending* and *The Matrix 4*.
