Wassily Kandinsky
Wassily Kandinsky (1866 - 1944) was a Russian-born painter and art theorist, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of abstract art. Born in Moscow, he initially pursued a career in law and economics before turning to art. Kandinsky's artistic journey evolved from early representational works to pure abstraction, influenced by his belief in the spiritual power of art and the connection between color, form, and emotion. He co-founded the influential Blue Rider (der Blaue Reiter) movement and played a significant role in shaping the development of abstract art in the 20th century. Kandinsky's vibrant and expressive compositions continue to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide, cementing his status as a key figure in modern art history.
