    About the Artist

    Alexander Viazmensky

    Known for his watercolor paintings of botanical subjects—especially mushrooms and other fungi—Alexander ("Sasha") Viazmensky lives in St. Petersburg, Russia.

    Sasha has artwork in museums and private collections around the globe. He has conducted botanical art classes in USA since 2004. He organized the first botanical art classes in Russia in 2012 and conducts them since. His main painting subject is fungi which he paints with a collection of debris from the fungus’s environment.
