This one-of-a-kind scarf by Hampton Roads-based weaver Phillip Pearcy is extra-special; to create the "gold medallions" required hundreds of hand-tied knots throughout the weaving, taking almost two months to complete.

About the Craftsman

Written Manifesto

Phillip J. Pearcy, who weaves under the moniker "Written Manifesto," began his exploration of fibers as a medium for expression while attending Old Dominion University. By the time Phillip finished weaving his first piece, a 40 × 60 inch blanket of mercerized pearle cotton and merino wool, he'd been bitten by the weaving bug.

Phillip graduated from ODU in 2017, and has since established his own weaving studio, where he focuses on creating unique pieces in various fibers. (No two scarves are alike!)
