Poul Gernes "Target" Tote Bag
Rings of ruby reds. Concentric circles of bright blues, opulent oranges, and mellow yellows. Time to play target practice with this tote bag by the mid-century Danish artist, Poul Gernes. Perfectly provocative. Colorfully edgy. Symbolic symmetry and jazzy geometry. Poul Gernes was rigorously experimental. In keeping with the re-orientations of art in the 1960s, Gernes tore art down from the easels to engage others—the people, all of us—to help carry out his public works. Or with Gernes’ own words: "I cannot alone—want to join in?"
This Loqi tote bag is made of tear- and water-resistant polyester. It is lightweight, yet strong. Comes folded inside a zippered pouch, which can be used as a coin purse.
