Contributors to The Time Is Always Now

Ekow Eshun is a British writer and curator. He is the author of In the Black Fantastic (MIT Press, 2022) and Africa State of Mind (Thames & Hudson, 2020).

British writer Bernardine Evaristo's novel Girl, Woman, Other (Grove Press, 2019) won the Booker Prize. She was the first Black woman and Black British person to win it in its 50-year history.

Canadian writer Esi Edugyan is the author of the bestseller Washington Black (Knopf, 2018), chosen by both the New York Times and Barack Obama as one of the best books of that year.
